Day at the Races!

Day at the Races!

Picking the perfect outfit for the races can often seem as tricky as choosing the winning horse, but luckily our personal stylist Lindsey Lindley is on hand to share her guide to race day fashion to ensure you’ll be the leader of the pack.

Hat’ll do nicely

We all know that it’s the hats, and not the horses, that are the real centre of attention at the races. Shopping for a hat can be stressful, especially if you’re not used to wearing them. Hats can make a real statement, but I’d recommend opting for a smallish hat or fascinator in a neutral tone – whites, pinks and nude colours will go with most ensembles and hair colours, and can be re-used and re-worn for future events. Here’s a pick of my favourites from Roman and Phase Eight.

Dress to impress

Don’t be a dark horse this summer – stand out in a statement dress in floral prints. Across womenswear we’re seeing a gorgeous array of flower prints from delicate to bold, there’s a pattern for everyone. Ted Baker, Phase Eight and French Connection all feature this bold floral trend, these are my summer race day failsafes.

Best foot forward

Race days can see you stood on your feet for hours on end, in all number of climates. I strongly recommend investing in a stylish pair of wedges. They’ll see you through a long day, and won’t get stuck in the mud! A good wedge is the only safe bet in race season! Paver’s summer season shoes are gorgeous this year.
