Small changes can make a big difference:
Put your phone down. As a society, we spend up to nine hours per day on our mobiles phones. Light from devices triggers the brain, tricking it into staying awake and can hinder your ability to drift off naturally.
Caffeine isn’t so bad after all – it’s not necessarily about the coffee but when you drink it. Caffeine takes around seven hours to leave our system so that morning coffee won’t affect your sleep but try to avoid caffeine after lunchtime.
Choosing the right slumber essentials:
A good mattress should spread pressure evenly across the body to naturally align the spine and assist circulation during sleep. Consider your body type as well as any health conditions when picking out a mattress, this includes height, weight and any health issues.
When it comes to choosing a mattress, we suggest spending around 5 minutes lying down to get a good feel for it. The feel of a mattress is key to knowing if it’s the right one for you.
Go as big as you can. If you share a bed with your partner, a good test of size is to lay side-by-side with your hands behind your head and elbows out – if elbows don’t touch then it’s the right size for you.
