Spring has finally sprung! Time to swap up your winter woollies and embrace short sleeves and summer sandals. Our personal stylist, Linsey Lindley, gives us her top tips on how to tackle SS17 trends on a budget.
Florals – It wouldn’t be spring without fresh, blooming flowers for your wardrobe. Floral prints emerge every spring and this season it’s all about the typical British flower garden with pink roses and green foliage. These high-waisted trousers from Phase Eight were made for a day at the races with friends – be bold and pair them with this silk print cami for a double floral hit. With wedding season upon us it’s time to start stocking up on your capsule wardrobe and this gorgeous white print coat from Ted Baker is a style statement.
Blush – If like me your wardrobe is a sea of black during the winter months I understand how hard it can be to jump it pastels. The best way to introduce some colour to your wardrobe is to keep it simple. The star colour for this season is blush pink, think modern femininity and rose hues. This simple leather backpack in pastel pink by Kurt Geiger oozes style with its clean lines and is a step away from your typical handbag. Another wedding season winner is this ruffle trimmed midi dress by Next; pair with black strappy heels and understated clutch.
Stripes – One of my favourite trends is a nod to nautical – stripes of course! This season sees a new take on typical stripes with fun variations and bold colours. This print dress by French Connection is a fun take on a classic; I can picture this on a sunny afternoon at a countryside wedding. If you plan on going away this Easter then a maxi dress is a must and I love this multi-coloured stripe maxi by Next, the ultimate chic.
Khaki – You don’t have to go bright and bold for spring, military-inspired khaki is another great way to shift from black to colour. If you’re looking for an easy, casual evening outfit then jeans paired with heels will be your new best friend. These green skinny jeans by French Connection are a wardrobe staple, simply pair with this cropped knit jumper by Jaeger and finish off with suede boots from Daniel Footwear for a comfortable yet uber stylish outfit.
