Spruce up your home for winter with these four key trends
It’s that time of year where the cold weather slowly starts to creep in and the dark nights are fast approaching, so there’s nothing better than a cosy night in.
Trends aren’t just for the catwalk and our personal stylist has given us her top four looks to get your home winter-ready.
Trend 1 – Highland
Fill your home with warmth, inspired by the rustic Highlands to add a cosy feel. This can be done simply by adding cushions into a room. I love how it looks when patterns and textures are mixed, for example, the look created by combining faux-fur, tartan and a print relating to the theme – a stag in this case! My favourites are these from Graham and Brown.
Once the fire is lit, this creates the most inviting areas to snuggle up in for a peaceful winter night in.
Trend 2 – Copper lights
Add a modern touch to your room, with the addition of copper. Copper is everywhere right now from accessories to kitchen appliances, but my favourite way to inject some colour into you room is with these stylish copper lampshades from Pagazzi.
Trend 3 – Cool tones
This is a bold move for this season with many choosing to favour warm autumnal tones at this time of year but with the use of white, to add balance, and copper accessories to inject some warmth into the room.
Grey and silver bedding and throws like these from Julian Charles will create the ultimate winter wonderland feel.
Trend 4 – Statement wallpaper
Inject a fresh new lease of life into a tired looking room by adding a statement wall. Papering one wall with an exotic print is a simple, cost effective way to entirely transform a room. And make it look festive at the same time!
Why not loop in both this trend with the Highlands, by choosing this stag print paper from Graham and Brown or this botanical print from designer Kelly Hoppen is a more subtle take on a statement wall.
