This Christmas we’re urging locals to dig deep to help an extremely worthwhile local charity that we have chosen to support for the second year running with our Giving Tree initiative.
From now until 18 December, guests visiting the outlet are being urged to buy and donate a gift to the West Lothian Financial Inclusion Network’s North Pole Project, which aims to collect hundreds of Christmas boxes to ensure that children or teenagers who live locally will wake up to a gift on Christmas Day.
This is the third year that the charity has hosted its appeal and this year, support and help from local people and businesses has never been more vital.
The charity has seen an increase in requests for its support services and as we approach Christmas the charity has never been in greater demand.
Kylie Wilson, marketing manager at Livingston Designer Outlet said:
There is a growing numbers of families in need on our doorstep and we wanted to support a local charity again this Christmas. No child or family should go without, especially at Christmas and we are urging our guests to buy a little extra something while Christmas shopping with us that can be donated and added to one of the Christmas boxes.”
The Christmas giving tree is situated at Guest Services and all you need to do to donate is take a tag, buy a gift for a boy or girl aged 0 to 16 and hand it back into the Guest Service team. Gifts could include items such as t-shirts, jackets, pyjamas, socks, hats, crafts, books, sweets, toiletries or small toys.
This year the charity is aiming to smash its record of 908 boxes donated in 2021.
