With the weather reports promising a heat wave, it’s time to transform your wardrobe to prepare for sunnier days and longer nights. Whether you’re adding to your existing wardrobe or looking for a whole new look this summer, our personal stylist Linsey Lindley has given us the lowdown of the top trends for the season.
Nothing says sunshine more than ice cream pastel colours! Head to French Connection for the most enviable colour palette, think spring weddings, race days and girl’s days out. I love these coral chinos, matched with a crisp white linen shirt for a day out with friends. This mint green pinafore dress is perfect for a casual wedding. And, one of my favourites, this 1950s inspired dress will put you first in the style stakes at race day.
It wouldn’t be spring without a hint of a floral print. This season, why not go for something a little different with abstract prints and statement accessories. The king of print, Ted Baker, has a range of gorgeous summer-ready pieces. This A-line dress is a summer wedding staple – simply switch up your shoes & bag for a new look every time. When it comes to accessories, Ted Baker is also famous for its bags, why not mix things up this summer with a statement backpack?
When it comes to denim, it’s not all about skinny jeans and spring is the perfect time to experiment. I LOVE these denim dungarees from French Connection – just throw on a Breton stripy tee and white trainers for a chic and casual summer look. It’s time to make the denim shirt your new wardrobe staple, this floral print shirt from Klass is a great mix of this season’s top trends.
One of the most popular trends for spring is Crayola inspired colouring. It’s time to swap out all black for a pop of colour! You can have a lot of fun with this trend, my must-have colour is canary yellow. This Ted Baker dress converts a classic shape into a summer show piece. Fossil’s signature Jori bag has also had a transformation for summer – it now comes in yellow and vibrant blue.
With so much colour around, all you need now is a cocktail in hand and a little more sunshine!
